We had stayed at this KOA before, so knew our way around Eureka and Pacific. We had been to St. Louis for CAPPA.

We went back to the Route 66 State Park because the visitor center was closed last time we were here. Once again, water rules the day – everything in Eureka and Pacific revolves around the Meramec River. I had never heard about the environmental mess at Times Beach before.

Naturally, Connie took us to an eclectic restaurant, the Tavern Kitchen and Bar.

We did a little maintenance catch-up on the coach and on me, as I had my teeth cleaned. Of course, we visited the dog park. Our jeep was ducked or maybe “sharked.” We ducked 4 jeeps while here and I left a painted stone.

After I had my teeth cleaned at Reiser Family Dental, we went down the hill to downtown Washington. This little island that is on the Missouri River is famous for being where the Lewis and Clark’s keelboat first had trouble with the river. Then we ate at Colton’s Steak House.

We also revisited the Arch to see the museum that had just reopened – and we also got our National Park book stamped.

We try to eat local – this time we went back to the Brew Haus in Pacific and ate at Joe Boccardi’s and at Mulligans on the edge of St. Louis.
