Ronks PA, Lancaster Amish, and the big wedding~

The stop was right in the heart of Amish Lancaster, PA.

We arrived on Friday and started with a cookout at Gary and Denise’s, where we saw Stacy, Libbey, Sophie, and Cecilia. We also met their chickens and k9s Parker, Lucky, and Mazie.

We ate breakfast the next day at Friendly’s, then the rehearsal dinner was at Will’s parents house. It was really more of a party. We drove the long way through the Amish farmland.

The park has a great gift store and fun activities for kids.

We got some sightseeing in Sunday morning, and discovered the Red Caboose Motel, made up entirely of railroad cars converted into rooms. There was also the Strasberg Railroad and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasberg. I found myself wishing I wasn’t going to Carlsbad where it was 103 degrees F.

Sunday evening was the big wedding, and it was beautiful.

ElizaBeth was able to take an Amish carriage ride, and I was so jealous. She also spend the day touring while I was presenting Carlsbad.

I did take a few Carlsbad pictures. Even the airport gift shop gets in the act on Amish culture.

We did get to do one tour together.

We also had one last dinner – and it was a great local buffet.
