We had a great patio spot, the only challenges – no shade, it was 100 degrees F, and the park allowed fireworks.

Dwight D. Eisenhower Museum was what we came to see, and we wasted no time.

When we were looking for a breakfast place, we came across the Abilene and Smoky Valley train ride – and went back the next day. They have two trains, a diesel and a steam engine, we lucked out and rode #3415, a restored steam engine. It’s a 10 MPH, 45 minute trip to the mill and back.
The park was full of characters, most were related to the wizard of Oz.

We saw the Dickson County Historical Society Museum on the train ride. Once inside, we discovered (and rode) the C. W. Parker Carousel.

Downtown Salina has sculptures on every corner, naturally we took lots of pictures. We ate at the Italian restaurant afterward.
