I originally thought we would be adjacent to Kansas City, but as it turned out, we were right by Leavenworth, Kansas in the town of Weston Bend, MO.

This was a quiet, small park, although we had an interesting neighbor or two. This area was where much tobacco was grown, and there is an old drying barn in the park. We made it into town for a date lunch.

We found the Leavenworth County Historical Society and Carroll Mansion Museum in Leavenworth.

We made it over to the town of Weston that was, at one time, the second largest port on the Missouri River, surpassing both Kansas City and St. Joseph. A flood in 1881 changed the course of the river.
