Fort Stockton, TX

ElizaBeth and I stopped overnight in Fort Stockton on one of our first trips together, and we had made plans to stop here last year that were derailed by my health issues. We finally made it!

The park reminded us of the Van Horn RV Park and a little of the Silver City KOA. It’s a great overnight stopping place on I10, and fills up nightly – and then it sounds like a racetrack in the morning with all the engines starting up. Elizabeth found plenty for us to see while we were there, and we stayed three nights.

First up was the Visitor Center, which is worth a trip by itself.

Then we went to the Fort. That first trip we took was to Fort Davis, and we walked all around that Fort. This was just as enjoyable.

After that, we went to the Annie Riggs Museum . A museum in the southwest has to have the barbed wire display, I think every one has that!

We drove around the town square, with the requisite Courthouse and Jail.

The RV Park had a great K9 Park and a cute little restaurant where we ordered take out.

We will definitely be back!
