Atlanta State Park
We chose Atlanta State Park instead of an RV park in Texarkana because we wanted to visit more state parks this year.
Date lunch was at Catfish King, this appeared to be the same franchise that was in Denton TX for years.
The closest town was Atlanta, naturally we went to the Atlanta Memorial Museum. There was an area dedicated to Bessie Coleman, who was born in Atlanta in 1892. She an early American civil aviator, the first African-American woman and first Native-American to hold a pilot license. She earned her pilot license from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale on June 15, 1921, and was the first black person to earn an international pilot’s license.
The state park was gorgeous, and the K9s enjoyed the walks.
I had selected our site based on Google earth, and thought I could hit the Dish satellites though a small opening in the pines – and I was right!
..and we will be back!
