I had some challenges making reservations in Sheridan and wound up with two at different places, so we chose Peter D’s because they were so nice on the phone. He and his wife were just as nice in person, and they offered us vegetables from their garden.
We were only here for several days, but this was a good layover. The KOA was really good and we had a great parking space, we ate at a couple of good local restaurants, and of course made it to a quilt shop!
Idaho Falls worked out to be on the way to Coeur d’Alene and Montana, but also to stop and meet David and Kerry Bowman. I’ve known them from the internet since 1997, this was truly a bucket list visit. We had really enjoyed Sioux Falls SD and Idaho Falls was just as pretty.
We stayed in Logan for two days, and were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed the town. Traveland was nice, clean, and efficient. While reading the history, I learned that the name of the valley came from the fact that the mountain men stashed their supplies in the valley – a “cache” – when they trekked into the mountains.
